Chen&Coffee began in October 2020 in Osaka, Japan. What started as a one time popup for a friend’s photo exhibition has taken us to almost all of Japan’s 47 prefectures, as well as to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, and many more places around the world.

We have been a multi-roaster since the very beginning - when we started traveling and working all over Japan during the COVID pandemic. It was during that time when we were able to build many incredible friendships and connections with roasters and coffee people all over Japan.
Unforeseen circumstances forced us to move back home to San Francisco, but our goal now is to connect our world in Japan to you and the rest of the world. We want to introduce our talented and hardworking friends in Japan to you through their incredible coffees and create a community that spans languages and cultures.

We believe that coffee is more than just a drink - but also a tool. Sharing exceptional coffee is important to us, but it is only the first step. Building community and creating connection is what drives us create and share our brews with you.
